Valley

The Radio Starmaker Fund continues to play an integral part in the advancement of Valley, and the funding support has been a significant driver in progressing their career both at home in Canada and internationally. With the help of Starmaker, Valley has executed promotional and revenue-generating efforts that have consistently developed their music career while also enabling them to capitalize on sudden rapid success by increasing their investment in a timely manner to continue their momentum as a breakthrough global artist.

Broadening and strengthening Valley’s marketing reach has directly contributed to increased music consumption and awareness, leading to some impressive accolades in their young career. In 2021 Valley released their highly-anticipated EP, The Last Birthday, and through domestic marketing funding support through Radio Starmaker, amplified their Canadian promotional efforts and successfully further developed their dedicated home-market fanbase. The release has been well-received both commercially, generating over 95 million Spotify streams and GOLD sales status in Canada for EP single “Like 1999”, as well as critically earning Valley a JUNO Award nomination for Group of the Year, a SOCAN Songwriting Award nomination and selection as Apple Music Canada’s Up Next Artist and Amazon Music Canada’s Artist to Watch. Radio Starmaker’s marketing funding proved even more valuable than expected when their single “Like 1999” sparked a viral moment for the group on TikTok, leading to a rapid spike in music streaming, social media engagement, merchandise sales and live performance ticket sales globally.

Valley is known for their energetic live shows, performing at music festivals worldwide, and their profile through live performance has been a focal component of their holistic development as a globally successful breakthrough artist. With the support of Radio Starmaker funding, Valley ambitiously pursued key performance opportunities that elevated their cachet as a live touring act culminating in a sold-out 18-date debut headlining tour in North America, a Canadian arena tour supporting Arkells, multiple US supporting tours, live performance videos produced and promoted by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a televised performance opening the 109th Grey Cup and performances at some of the most prestigious festivals globally. The support from Starmaker has allowed Valley to mitigate the financial limitations associated with producing and touring a top-quality live show and instead centre their decision-making solely on confirming opportunities based on the value they offer to the development of their career. With a 2023 North American headlining tour in venues over double the size on average of their first headlining tour in the market confirmed and plans coming together for the extension of that tour into Asia, Valley is truly on a trajectory toward becoming a thriving global touring act and funding support from Radio Starmaker continues to expedite their progress in this facet of their career.

Moving into 2023, Valley has their sights on recording a new album working with some of the best songwriters and producers in the global industry and furthering their development and presence in the markets they have been developing for the past several years. Simultaneously they will be using their momentum and digital audience growth metrics to pursue an increased presence in new markets such as Asia, Europe, Australia and South America. The support from Radio Starmaker has assisted Valley in creating a thriving foundational career and allows them to continually invest more into their international development as they continue to hit career-high and industry-high achievements on their way to becoming a globally successful artist.
