Artist Profile: Jeremie Albino

Jeremie Albino

The support from Radio Starmaker Fund has been highly instrumental in Jeremie Albino’s career development. Because of the program support, Jeremie has taken on meaningful touring commitments, marketing initiatives and recording engagements. Jeremie would undoubtedly have had a very different trajectory to date without these opportunities. We’ve been able to tour globally and in support of world-class artists like St.Paul & The Broken Bones, Shovels & Rope, Langhorne Slim, Orville Peck and more. We’ve been able to undertake advertising campaigns which notably increased his social reach.

The touring support has been instrumental in increasing Jeremie’s North American profile. RSF enabled us to elevate Jeremie's performances with a full band backing him in some cases and others with elevated stage production and support crew. Because of this elevated presence, Jeremie has made a meaningful impression on the music industry, his peers and a global audience that is growing rapidly. Without the support from RSF, we would not have been able to take risks and invest in his show production to the extent we have. In such a competitive landscape, these elevated components of Jeremie’s project have propelled his momentum into 2022. 2023 is stacking up with tour dates, festival engagements and partnership opportunities thanks to the work we were able to put into developing his profile in 2020, 2021 and 2022 thus far!

In 2022 we released an EP of songs produced by one of Jeremie’s long-time idols, Michael Trent of Shovels & Rope. We were able to augment our marketing initiatives with this release using support from the international marketing program from RSF. The Orion Program from RSF has been another critical support mechanism for Jeremie. During the pandemic, we made an EP remotely in a precarious time for the music industry thanks to RSF. We wouldn’t have been able to find the funding support to make this album had it not been for the Orion program. 2022 and all of the momentum Jeremie has built is thanks to RSF and its support.

In closing, RSF’s support and the program’s structure have empowered Jeremie at such a critical moment in his career to have some form of control and edge in how he pursues each step of the process. It has given him a competitive advantage internationally and helped him present as a global talent that Canadians are rallying behind and explore creative and brand development opportunities that otherwise would not have been afforded him. The work RSF is doing to cultivate and nurture artists at critical moments in their careers is invaluable.
