During a year of lockdown Bobby Wills and the team had to rethink what releasing and touring would look like. With the support of the Radio Starmaker Fund, Bobby was able to incorporate live virtual shows into the market plan for his new music and pull off a successful release. With this unique opportunity, Bobby was able to partner with radio stations across Canada to promote his upcoming virtual shows, which increased social media awareness greatly, and brought attention to the new single to fans and our colleagues at radio.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions, filming the shows presented an obstacle that Bobby and the team were able to turn into a unique “behind the scenes” marketing angle for fans. Bobby shot the show in his home studio that he dubbed “The Longshot Bar and Grill”, which gave fans a direct look into the world of Bobby Wills, where he writes, records demos, and jams before hitting the stage. During the lockdown this home studio approach was a great new way to bring fans closer than ever to Bobby without physically being there.
