The Radio Starmaker Fund started supporting me in 2019 when I had less than a quarter of the 2,000,000,000 streams I currently have, and prior to my first two JUNO Award nominations. Since then, I have grown my worldwide audience engagement substantially thanks in part to Starmaker’s contributions.

The RSF supported my first headlining tours of the United States and Europe as my single “Lalala” was gaining traction on streaming platforms, TikTok, and commercial radio. Those sold out tours laid the foundation for a 53-date 2020 world tour that Starmaker also funded, which was unfortunately postponed part way through due to the onset of the pandemic.

Starmaker’s support of those shows despite their indefinite postponement took pressure off me, allowing me to easily meet financial commitments to my team of hired musicians and crew despite the shows not occurring. Starmaker’s policies of supporting shows that were cancelled due to the pandemic were incredible and greatly appreciated by all involved!

I also increased my own investment in marketing my self-released music in part because of the opportunity to have part of the costs of doing so subsidized by the RSF. I expanded my short-form video promotion efforts, exponentially increased my social media advertising investment, and hired an advertising and sales campaign development agency that assisted me substantially in furthering engagement with my listeners and increasing revenue.

The Radio Starmaker Fund has played an invaluable role in both the short-term engagement of my audience, and in helping establish infrastructure that will assure the longevity of the income from my music.
