Artist Profile: Aaron Goodvin

Aaron Goodvin

Aaron Goodvin is a living, working example of an artist taking full advantage of the ways that the Radio Starmaker Fund can fortify and bolster his career as an artist, not only in his home country of Canada but internationally. Radio Starmaker support has made all the difference from his first cross-Canada tour to five consecutive top ten singles, a platinum single, a Songwriter(s) of the Year win at the CCMA’s, a US record deal and touring, and so much more.

Aaron’s first US tour for his current project V, was made possible through Radio Starmaker. On the Bars & Churches tour, Aaron visited over two dozen major markets, playing live shows, and introducing himself to new programmers and audiences -- an incredibly crucial foundational piece of the puzzle for an emerging artist. Radio Starmaker has and continues to assist in opening the relationship doors to both new fans and hard to reach gatekeepers and tastemakers in major markets across the United States.

As COVID-19 restrictions lifted in the late summer and fall, Radio Starmaker once again made it possible for Aaron to get out on the road with his Live From Outside tour to resume visibility in these times that have been so challenging to the music industry. He was welcomed by old friends and made new connections as he began the advance promotion and marketing campaign for his next US single, “Lonely Drum,” a song that Aaron hopes to use to replicate the career changing success he had in Canada in the US.

In Canada, where Aaron enjoys a much more established awareness and track record as a platinum-selling, hit-making country artist, CCMA winner, and JUNO nominee, Radio Starmaker is still an incredibly important tool when it comes to taking advantage of important career opportunities. For example, having the ability to take his full band along for high profile performance opportunities rather than performing solo. The presentation of an artist with their full band certainly elevates the perception and quality of an artist’s performance value. So when Aaron was invited to open for Rascal Flatts on a string of Canadian arena dates, Radio Starmaker made it is possible for Aaron to take his band along for their first, full-band arena show, which was impactful in those important areas of perception and reality.

As late fall and winter sets in, Radio Starmaker is once again providing Aaron the opportunity to both remain visible and continue to build the story of the impending US Lonely Drummer Boy tour. This tour will have him playing COVID-19 compliant shows and visiting markets in Kentucky, Tennessee, Idaho, South Carolina, and a number of other states as he continues to build his international career profile in the US.
