Artist Profile: Thousand Foot Krutch

Thousand Foot Krutch

Thousand Foot Krutch, a hard rock trio from Peterborough, have not always been a musical and touring ‘tour de force’. They have come a long way from vocalist Trevor McNevan’s parents’ garage in 1997 to worldwide stages in 2016.

The band was originally signed to a major label but six years ago they decided to go it alone. This decision was based on their desire to build and control their own legacy. For TFK, it’s about the music and the message. The band’s motivation has always been about reaching fans and the impact their music has on people’s lives. Being in charge of their own destiny, they have guaranteed releases in every territory and define how they want to tell their story. The Radio Starmaker Fund has strengthened their ability to grow the reach of their music, performances and impact and in doing so, live out their dreams.

Since taking charge of their own musical direction, including recording and touring, the band’s success has never been as significant and evident. Recent international touring in Australia, Russia, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, the Ukraine and extensive touring in America demonstrates this success with audiences around the world. 2016 marked the first year in the band’s history that they have played main stage festival performances, including the massive Rock on the Range, Carolina Rock Rebellion and Rocklahoma. Thanks largely to Starmaker, this level of success has finally become a reality.

The RSF has helped the band grow in markets around the world. It’s helped facilitate incredible chart successes, including #1 Rock Album positions in many countries around the world, multiple Top 20 Billboard album spots in the States and prime real estate on digital service providers like iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and Pandora. The band now has ten consecutive Top 40 Active Rock radio hits in the USA, a feat they were never able to achieve in the past. This has led to huge media support throughout the world’s rock and Christian media outlets including Kerrang!, Alternative Press and Revolver.

Overall, the Radio Starmaker Fund has given Thousand Foot Krutch the means to elevate their position in ways that were not available to them previously. In a very tangible sense the RSF’s support has changed everything for the band — what hasn’t changed, however, is their desire to make music, share it and have an impact that resonates with their fans all over the world.
