Artist Profile: High Valley

High Valley

A remote hometown and unique upbringing seems to have been a magical combination for Canadian country duo High Valley. With four full-length releases, three gold singles and seven Top 10 singles at Canadian Country Radio all under their belt, High Valley have become leaders in the Canadian country genre.

The group joined Open Road Recordings for their three most recent releases, including their latest - the highly acclaimed County Line, released in October of 2014. They have been nominated for ten CCMA Awards to date and have won three, including two back-to-back Group or Duo of the Year Awards (in 2015 and 2016). They have also received two Juno Award nominations for Country Album of the Year, for their self-titled album in 2012 and County Line in 2016. Additionally, the band has signed to Atlantic Records in the United States.

High Valley have been fortunate to receive two rounds of Domestic Marketing funding from the Radio Starmaker Fund, both for 2014’s County Line album. This has allowed them to participate in marketing initiatives they may not have otherwise been able to afford, such as radio advertisements, digital marketing across multiple online channels and radio promotion. This investment led to a greater domestic awareness of the band and their music, helping bring their career to a previously unseen level. It helped extend the album cycle and allowed the band to continue building momentum and widening their fan base. Sales for this album are still strong 23 months later and they’ve been able to tour all over Canada, the States and the UK since its release.

Within the first two weeks of September 2016, High Valley celebrated their third gold single (for “She’s With Me”) and won the aforementioned CCMA Group or Duo of the Year honour. This will help launch them internationally, particularly with the power of the Warner/Atlantic team behind them. We are extremely grateful for the support that High Valley has received from the Radio Starmaker Fund. It’s played an important role in getting their career to its current level and has opened the door to many more possibilities ahead.
