Success Fact: Jordan Officer

In March of 2014, I released my first full length blues album, I’m Free. Prior to this time, I was known professionally as the co-founder, guitarist and producer of the Susie Arioli Band featuring Jordan Officer, as well as guitarist and/or producer for other bands working out of Quebec. My own music was always a side project.

Thanks to funding from Starmaker, I have gained recognition as a blues singer and songwriter, earning praise and success as a solo performer. The funding help with print and radio advertising, professional video clips for social media and postering in the Montreal metro all contributed to strong visibility in my home province of Quebec. My website was also updated, allowing for better contact with new and existing fans and Starmaker funds were also used to hire a publicist to target media in the rest of Canada outside of Quebec. This in turn led to sales of over 5,000 albums in the first year of release and invitations to play at major music festivals. I launched my album in Toronto, re-connecting with fans who knew me from my previous projects. Additionally, I was nominated for a Maple Blues Award and one of the songs from I’m Free was selected by Daniel Lanois as one of the winners in an Uprise.fm contest. I am very thankful to the Radio Starmaker Fund for their assistance and contribution to my developing career.
