With the support of The Radio Starmaker Fund, Matt Andersen has had the biggest year of his growing career.

Assistance provided by the Radio Starmaker Fund enabled the Perth-Andover native to tour the world, cultivating valuable international growth and boosting both his domestic ticket sales and already impressive following of devoted fans.

Throughout 2014, Matt headlined multiple sold out shows across North America, including the legendary Massey Hall in Toronto. He was invited to support Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang, Los Lobos and the Old Crow Medicine Show, among others. Matt’s extensive touring schedule includes over 150 shows per year, driving sales through various channels, including physical and digital retailers. His album peaked at #14 on Nielsen Soundscan’s Top 100 Current Albums in Canada and was the highest-selling Canadian album during the week of its release.

Matt has finally been introduced to the world with thoughtful and creative marketing initiatives, as well as regionally targeted advertising campaigns, coordinated by local publicity teams. The feedback has been overwhelming and the demand for Matt’s live show has drastically increased internationally due to our effective marketing strategies. The Radio Starmaker Fund’s support of Matt and his label, True North Records, allowed for a meaningful and successful release of Weightless in Canada, the USA, the UK, Germany and Australia.
